Quantum Hardware Lead, Installation

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Hardware Lead, On-Premises Installation. Location: Golden Valley, MN, USA

Responsibilities:

• Lead the installation, relocation, reassembly, and performance qualification of Helios quantum systems at customer premises.
• Oversee integration and validation of systems prior to shipment.
• Coordinate with internal experts to develop and refine installation procedures and work instructions.
• Manage on-site service and maintenance operations with global support.
• Drive continuous improvement in shipping, installation, and maintenance processes.
• Travel domestically and internationally for extended periods for deployment and service.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• 8+ years of post-graduate experience in hardware production or R&D environments.
• Expertise in atomic physics systems, lasers, vacuum systems, cryogenics, and laboratory control systems.
• Proficiency in Python, physical modeling, and data analysis.
• Strong leadership in technical projects and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Eligible for international travel and must meet U.S. security and citizenship requirements.

Preferred:

• Background in trapped ion quantum computing or related platforms.
• Hands-on work with ultra-high vacuum systems, cryogenics, laser cooling, and analog/digital electronics.
• Experience installing large-scale, high-tech equipment in labs, data centers, or industrial settings.
