Job Title: NISQ Application Research Scientist – Quantum AI. Location: Goleta, CA, USA
Responsibilities:
- Design protocols to simulate many-body quantum systems on NISQ and early fault-tolerant quantum devices.
- Model device noise and develop strategies for error mitigation and early quantum error correction;
- Collaborate with experimental teams to support quantum algorithm experiments on Google’s hardware;
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at scientific conferences.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a closely related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least one scientific publication (conference, journal, or public repository);
Preferred:
- 2+ years of experience with Python and high-performance scientific computation.
- Familiarity with Trotter methods and simulations of strongly-correlated quantum systems.
- Knowledge of error mitigation techniques in NISQ devices;
- Published research in collaboration with experimental quantum scientists.
