Silicon System Security Architect

Job Description

Job Title: Silicon System Security Architect. Location: San Diego, CA, USA

Responsibilities:

• Define and develop the security architecture, features, and specifications for SoC platforms.
• Lead the design of next-generation secure silicon solutions, integrating cryptographic protocols and hardware cryptographic functions, including post-quantum cryptography.
• Drive collaborative efforts across hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust system-wide security;
• Architect secure services such as secure boot, update/recovery mechanisms, and key provisioning based on HSM and Google Cloud;
• Oversee and evolve secure manufacturing processes, PKI infrastructure, and certification workflows.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in applied cryptography, PKI management, and secure manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of cryptographic algorithms and protocols;
• Experience with hardware/software threat, security, and risk analysis.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in delivering security IPs and infrastructure for consumer-focused SoCs.
• 3+ years of experience with HSM development, deployment, and policy building.
• Familiarity with certification bodies and processes;
• Experience with countermeasures against SPA/DPA/fault injection, DRM, secure boot, key management, and control flow integrity.
