Job Description
Job Title: Senior Software Engineer, QPU Software. Location: Remote (United States or United Kingdom)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain services and SDKs for building and executing programs on QCS.
- Work in Rust, Golang, Python, and Typescript to enhance backend services and web applications.
- Extend OpenAPI and gRPC APIs to improve quantum processor access;
- Collaborate closely with embedded software, infrastructure, and quantum research teams.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and lead implementation from conception to production.
- Participate in pager duty rotation to ensure system uptime (rare off-hour incidents);
- Engage with the quantum computing community through presentations and publications.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Rust, with competence in Golang and Python.
- Strong experience in schema-driven API design (OpenAPI, gRPC, GraphQL).
- Proven ability to build and support high-performance, reliable systems.
- Experience with distributed systems and service versioning;
- Knowledge of quantum computing or a willingness to develop expertise in the field;
- Bonus: background in compilers, React, SDK development, or Kubernetes architecture.
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field preferred.
Benefits:
- Salary (US): $170,000–$200,000 annually
- Salary (UK): £105,000–£125,000 annually
